Mary Martin Ourisman (birth name: Mary Martin ; * February 1946 in Texas ) is a former US diplomat who was the United States Ambassador to Barbados between 2006 and 2009 .

Life

Mary Martin, daughter of Dr. Herbert Martin and Aleen Martin, after attending school, began studying at the University of Texas at Austin , graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science (BS). She also completed courses at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID). She was involved with various Republican Party politicians such as George W. Bush , John McCain , Elizabeth Dole and Mitt Romney and, with her third husband, made a donation to Mandell "Mandy" Ourisman, CEO of Ourisman Automotive Enterprises , whom she married on June 12, 1993. for their election campaigns. Between 2004 and 2010 she was a board member of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, founded in 1971, and was also involved in the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Smithsonian Institution .

On September 15, 2006, Mary M. Ourisman was named Ambassador of the United States to Barbados , replacing Mary Kramer on November 7, 2006. She remained in that post until January 16th 2009, after which Brent Hardt dortiger d'affaires was. She was also an ambassador in Antigua and Barbuda , Dominica , Grenada , St. Kitts and Nevis , St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines accredited .
