Masayuki Satō ( Japanese 佐藤 昌幸 , Satō Masayuki ; born May 7, 1975 ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

Career

Satō played his first World Cup jumping on January 22, 1994 in Sapporo . He finished jumping on the normal hill in 52nd place. A day later he was able to achieve World Cup points for the first time with place 25 on the large hill. Two years followed with only mediocre placements, mostly in the lower field of points, before he was able to draw attention to himself for the first time on December 1st, 1996 in Lillehammer on the large hill with 14th place. In the most successful week of his World Cup career, he achieved a 13th place on December 7th in Kuusamo , before he even jumped 11th place on the same hill on December 8th. He was able to achieve this 11th place twice in the following years, namely on January 4, 1997 in the jumping in Innsbruck and on January 23, 1999 in Sapporo. Otherwise it was only enough for rear placements. After Sato only reached a 50th and last place in Villach on December 8, 2001 , he was accepted into the Japanese Continental Cup team and removed from the A-squad. Only on January 24, 2002 did he jump again in the national group in Hakuba . After there was no more success in the Continental Cup either, Sato ended his active jumping career on March 11, 2004 after the FIS race .
