Masud Akbarzadeh
Masud Akbarzadeh (* between 1981 and 1991 in Iran ) is a German-Iranian stand-up comedian and cabaret artist .
Life
Akbarzadeh was born in Iran between 1981 and 1991. He moved to Berlin with his family in the mid-1990s . He grew up in Berlin-Neukölln near the Köllnische Heide train station .
“As a child I was totally shy, I hardly said anything. At some point the time came when I was sent to Taekwondo . I don't know if it's that, but that's where I got out of my mind. On my primary school certificate in the second grade it said, "Masud entertains his classmates with stories from his weekend." As a child he regularly played theater. As a budding comedian, he rehearsed four times a week on the stage of Scheinbar Varieté in Berlin-Schöneberg . Between 2003 and 2009 he worked as an ensemble member in an improvisation theater.
He broke off his law studies in 2007. This was followed in 2008 by nine months of community service in a psychiatric clinic. Akbarzadeh dropped out of medical school in 2009. From 2009 to 2011 he studied directing and acting in California . During this time he gained his first experience as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco . Since January 2012 he has also performed in Germany.
In February 2012 he was seen at Hektor Haarkötters Immigrantenstadl and other shows at the Comedy Club Kookaburra in Berlin. In June 2012 Akbarzadeh performed at the Comedy Festival in Maribor . At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe followed in August 2012 further appearances in mixed shows in English. Akbarzadeh has been moderating the Scheinbar Varieté in Berlin since 2012.
In May 2016 Akbarzadeh appeared on the cabaret show Die Anstalt . Since the end of August 2016, Akbarzadeh can be heard on You FM's morning show with the comedy series “Message von Masud” . Akbarzadeh also participated in the award ceremony for the German Engagement Prize in 2016 .
Since 2014 he has been nationwide for the first time with his solo stage program Who the Fuck is Masud Akbarzadeh? on tour.
His outfit with a velvet jacket and colored bow tie, chosen for stage appearances, is based on a film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland .
Akbarzadeh lives in Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf . He has an older brother.
