Silvestre was a member of the Boca Juniors from July 2002 . He made his debut on March 23, 2003 in the game between Boca and Lanus (3-1). From July 2004 he wore the shirt number 22 and from July 2007 the number 2.

On the evening of January 28, 2008, he moved to Catania on loan with a commitment clause for the Sicilian team. In the summer of 2008, the Italians took him under contract. After three years, he joined local rivals US Palermo in the summer of 2011 .

For the 2012/13 season , Silvestre moved to Inter Milan on loan . Although he couldn't convince at Inter, he was signed by Inter after the season as the Milanese had a gentlemen's agreement with Palermo. After Inter's coach Walter Mazzarri no longer planned with the Argentine, Silvestre switched to AC Milan on loan for the 2013/14 season , which was given the option of a permanent commitment. This was not drawn. In August 2014, Silvestre was loaned to Sampdoria Genoa .

After his contract with Inter Milan ended, Silvestre moved to Sampdoria_Genua . His contract there was extended in January 2017 to summer 2019. At the beginning of August 2018, he moved to FC Empoli for the 2018/19 season, which was promoted to Serie A that season . At the end of the season Empoli rose again from Serie A; the Silvestre contract was not renewed.

It wasn't until February 2020 that he found a new club with AS Livorno in the Italian Serie B. In mid-July 2020, he moved to Belgian first division Royal Excel Mouscron .
