Matahoi ( Mata Ohi ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Uato-Lari ( municipality of Viqueque ). Uato-Lari , the seat of the administrative office of the same name , also belongs to the Suco .

The place Matahoi is located in the northeast of the Sucos, at an altitude of 29  m . The primary school Escola Primaria Matahoi is located here .

In Matahoi live 4,492 inhabitants (2015), of which 2,189 are men and 2303 women. The population density is 87.7 inhabitants / km². There are 923 households in the Suco. Almost 86% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. Almost 7% speak Naueti . They live mainly around the place Uato-Lari. 6% speak Tetum Prasa and a small minority speak Tetum Terik .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Matahoi had an area of ​​12.25 km². Now there are 51.21 km². The Suco is located in the southwest of the administrative office Uato-Lari on the Timor Sea . To the south is the Suco Macadique , to the north the Sucos Afaloicai and Uaitame . In the west Matahoi borders on the administrative office of Ossu with its sucos Loi-Huno and Uabubo . The Saqueto River forms the border with Macadique . The boho originating in Matahoi flows into it . The Belia, a tributary of the Bebui, flows across the Suco .

The southern coastal road, one of the country's main routes, runs through the south. The larger Matahois settlements are located on it. The largest is Uato-Lari , the main town of the administrative office. It has an elementary school, pre-secondary school, secondary school, police station, helipad, and community health center. Other places in the immediate vicinity are Matahoi, Umaquic and Buca Dalan ( Buka Dalan ).

In the Suco there are the twelve Aldeias Aele , Buca Dalan-Matahoi , Calohan-Uatulo , Dalan Los-Uanama , Iraler , Loco Loco , Mau Ciac , Mauseloc , Tatilari , Uani Uma , Uasufa and Ulusu .

In the elections of 2004/2005 was António Amaral elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
