history

There is only oral tradition of local pre-colonial history. Accordingly, the kingdom of Babulo the Naueti was the dominant power of the region. It was in conflict with the empire of Builo . The Portuguese colonial power finally sent a descendant from the kingdom of Luca as ruler of Uaitame and Vessoru and placed him hierarchically above that of Babulo. The ruler from Luca put an end to the conflict. In the period before the Second World War , Makasae from Afaloicai began to settle in the Naueti areas. Dom Umberto , Liurai of Uaitame, and his descendant Gaspar de Sana recruited Afaloicai residents to cultivate fields around Databai and on the west bank of the Bebuis. These areas are often the bone of contention these days between individuals and groups from Afaloicai and the sucos of Macadique and Matahoi.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Pedro Lopes was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Marcelino Pinto Alves won .
