Uabubo is an East Timorese Suco in the Ossu Administrative Office ( Viqueque municipality ).

Uabubo is in the north of the Ossu administrative office. Before the 2015 territorial reform, Uabubo had an area of ​​25.76 km². Now there are 45.39 km². In the southeast, Uatubo gave up areas to the Suco Ossorua , including the villages of Samaliurai , Darenau and Uaitau . In return, Uabubo received almost all of its north from the Suco Ossu de Cima , beyond the Cuha River , with its Caimalulo tributary as the southern border to Ossu de Cima in the west and the Suco Builale in the west. To the south of Uabubo are the sucos Uaguia and Ossorua and in the northeast the Suco Nahareca . In the north Uabubo borders on the administrative office Venilale (municipality Baucau ) with the sucos Uai Oli and Uatu Haco . In the east, Uabubo extends to the administrative office of Uato-Lari with its Suco Afaloicai .

In the east of Uabubo, the Aetalabere and two other source rivers of the Seiçal arise , which flows off to the north. Between the two smaller source rivers, there are several small towns in close proximity to one another. These are Samalogo , Buanurac ( Boanurac , Buanarak , Buanurak ), Daesi and Dalirisi . The settlement center has a primary school.

In the Suco there are the six Aldeias Buanurac , Dauborobaha , Laritame , Leque-Buti , Ossogori and Uai-Lia (Wai-Lia) .

Residents

The Suco has 2,717 inhabitants (2015), of which 1,311 are men and 1,406 women. The population density is 59.9 inhabitants / km². There are 578 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Tetum Prasa , Tetum Terik or Sa'ane .

During Operation Donner in 1999, several residents of Buanurac fled the village for fear of the pro-Indonesian militias .

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Joanico Maria Alves da Cruz elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
