Mathías Suárez , full name Mathías Sebastián Suárez Suárez , (born June 24, 1996 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.79 meter tall defensive player Malvino has been part of the squad of the Uruguayan first division club Defensor Sporting , from whose junior team he emerged , since the 2013/14 season . In that season he was there twice in the Primera División until the end of the Clausura 2014 (no goal). In the 2014/15 season he was used once (no goal) in the top Uruguayan league. This was followed in the 2015/16 season - each without personal scoring - 23 further premier league appearances and two games of the Copa Sudamericana 2015 .

In January 2019 he then moved to the French first division club HSC Montpellier in Ligue 1 .

National team

Suarez was first used on December 7, 2010 in the 3-2 loss to Gremio by Alejandro Garay in the Uruguayan U-15 national team , for which he played two international matches (no goal). He made his debut on August 15, 2013 / August 16, 2013 under coach Fabián Coito in the 2-0 defeat against the selection of Japan in the SBS Cup in the Uruguayan U-17 national team . He was part of the squad that reached the quarter -finals of the 2013 U-17 World Cup . During the tournament he played five games. He did not score a hit. According to the association, he played a total of eleven games (no goal) for the U-17s, according to the association's criteria, both games of Celeste against national teams and against international club teams are counted.

He was also used in his two debut games on May 20, 2014 and May 22, 2014 against Paraguay in the U-20 coached by Coito . In the U-20 international matches on June 10, 2014 against Paraguay and on August 6, 2014 and September 24, 2014 (one goal) against Peru, he also ran. He was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2015 U-20 South American Championship in Uruguay and at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand . On May 19, 2015 he was initially nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional squad of the U-22s at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto . After all, he was on the final squad and won the tournament with the Celeste.

His first two games in the senior national team followed in November 2018 . In the friendlies against Brazil (0: 1) and France (0: 1) he was in the starting line-up and was replaced shortly before the end.
