Mathias Hensch
Mathias Hensch (born December 18, 1967 in Celle ) is a German medieval archaeologist .
Live and act
Henschleben studied with Walter Sage and Ingolf Ericsson Archeology of the Middle Ages and modern times, in Arthur Berger and Björn-Uwe Abel pre- and early history as well as Gerd Zimmermann and Bernd Schneidmüller story focusing Medieval History at the University of Bamberg and medieval archeology at Else Roesdahl at Aarhus University in Denmark. The Master of Arts he received in 1996. From 1992 to 2001 he headed the excavations at the early and high medieval center of power Sulzbach ( Schloss Sulzbach ) in the Upper Palatinate and was with his work on this issue at Ericsson and Schneidmüller at the University of Bamberg in 2003 his doctorate .
Hensch has been working as an old town advisor and archaeologist for the city of Amberg since the beginning of 2020 .
His research and work focuses on the history of settlements, churches and rulers as well as the early mining history of the Upper Palatinate.
Hensch wrote numerous publications and research papers on medieval archeology and history of the Upper Palatinate.
