Mathias Lanfer
Mathias Lanfer (* 1961 in Südlohn ) is a German sculptor and lecturer at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences .
life and work
Mathias Lanfer initially trained as a technical draftsman . From 1986 he studied design at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences , accompanied by study visits to the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht and the Rijksakademie Amsterdam . From 1989 to 1994 he studied sculpture as a master class student with Tony Cragg at the Düsseldorf Art Academy .
From 1995 to 1997 Lanfer was a lecturer in the basics of sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy , and from 2010 to 2019 he was a lecturer in plastic metal design at the European Art Academy in Trier . Since 2007 he has been a lecturer for drawing and design at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld .
Lanfer photographs, models, films and also works as a sculptor, for example in portraits with shaving foam . His work focuses on sculptures and art in public spaces . Lanfer is a member of the German Association of Artists and lives in Heiligenhaus.
