Mathias Schwarz

Mathias Schwarz (* 1952 in Munich ) is a German lawyer and professor of media law . He also works as a mediator and auditor .

He is a partner in the supra-local law firm SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte and specializes in copyright law , media & entertainment , arbitration and mediation .

Career

Mathias Schwarz studied in Munich, Freiburg , Geneva and Rome and received his doctorate in 1982 from the University of Munich . From 1984 to 1987 he was head of the legal department of the Kirch Group . Since 1987 he has been a partner of the supra-local law firm SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte, with offices in Munich, Berlin , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt and Hamburg . In 1990 he was licensed as an auditor . In 1995 he was appointed honorary professor for media law at the University of Leipzig . In 1999/2000 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Constantin Film AG . In 2002 he was a member of the initiative group to found the German Film Academy eV (with Bernd Eichinger , Helmut Dietl and Ulrich Felsberg ). In 2005 he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Television and Film Munich . Mathias Schwarz has been the legal advisor of the cinema section of the Alliance of German Producers - Film & Television since 2008 and of the animation section since 2014. In February 2019, Mathias Schwarz was one of the negotiators at the conclusion of the joint remuneration rules between ARD and the Association of German Scriptwriters (VDD) and the Association of Media and Stage Publishers (VDB).

Mathias Schwarz is the son of Prof. Dr. Wolf Schwarz , the founder of the SKW Schwarz law firm.
