Mathias Soiron was the son of Matthieu Soiron , with whom he presumably enjoyed his education, and Lucia Ernou (1726–1786). He belonged to an artist family with stonemasons, carpenters and silversmiths known beyond Belgium. Soiron worked mainly as a builder and decorator in Maastricht, where he was appointed city architect and the surrounding area. He created works of art in the baroque , empire and classicist styles, mainly in the Louis-seize and pre- classicist styles . In addition, Soiron has built an excellent reputation as a designer of chairs, tables, chests of drawers, secretaries, games, pool tables and four-poster beds.

Mathias Soiron was married to Sophia Elisabeth L'Herminotte (1754-1838). The couple is buried in Bemelen. Her son François became a pastor in Bemelen.

Some of Mathias Soiron's drawing books are in the Regional Historical Center of Limburg. They give an impression of his historic houses in Maastricht and his training during the construction of Wickrath Castle .
