Matt Bissonette

Matt Bissonette (born July 25, 1961 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American bass player .

Career

Matt Bissonette grew up in a family of musicians, his father Bud plays drums, his mother Phyllis piano and vibraphone and his older brother Gregg Bissonette drums.

He studied jazz at the University of North Texas. He later played - often with his brother Gregg - with Joe Satriani , David Lee Roth , Julian Lennon , Brian Wilson , Don Henley and Peter Frampton . From 1993 to 1999 and again briefly in 2007/2008 he had his own band called The Mustard Seeds , to which his brother also belonged for a time. In 2003 he accompanied Ringo Starr with his brother Gregg on a US tour. Since 2012 he has been a permanent member of the Elton John band.

Matt Bissonette lives in Orange County, Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
