Natalia Volgina

Natalja Wolgina ( Russian Наталья Волгина , English transcription Natalya Volgina , nee Алексеева - Alexejewa - Alekseyeva ; born March 15, 1977 ) is a Russian marathon runner .

On her debut, she was tenth in the 2000 Paris Marathon . The following year she finished second in the Two Oceans Marathon (56 km) and came third in the Hong Kong Marathon .

In 2002 she won the Two Oceans Marathon. At the Comrades Marathon (86 kilometers) of the same year she finished second as well as at the Two Oceans Marathon 2003.

In 2005 she finished fourth in the Country Music Marathon , second in the Istanbul Marathon and won the Macau Marathon.

The following year she finished second in Paris and came 24th at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg . At the end of the season she was third in Istanbul.

A fifth place in the Rome Marathon in 2007 was followed by a sixth in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon and a fourth in the Athens Marathon .

In 2010 she won the Düsseldorf Marathon .

Natalja Wolgina is married to the ultra marathon runner Alexei Wolgin .
