Matthias Lendt

Matthias Lendt (born September 6, 1962 in Eisfeld ) is a former German cyclist . He started from 1979 to 1988 for the Turbine Erfurt sports club . His strength lay particularly in the time trial .

Athletic career

In 1979 he won the GDR championships in the team pursuit in his age group and thus his first national title. In 1982 he was GDR champion in the mountain time trial . In 1987 he became national champion of the GDR in the team time trial (with Mario Kummer , Rauch and Thomas Schmidt ). He achieved an outstanding success in 1984 when he won the international Tour of Thuringia with three stage wins, after he had already taken 3rd place in 1982. 1986 followed a 2nd place in a stage victory. In 1983 he was third again.

He took part in the International Peace Tour in 1985 and was 28th in the final result. He started with good results in numerous international tours, e.g. B .:

After a less successful season in 1988 (the best result was third place in Rund um Leipzig ), he ended his career.
