Matthias Loehr (born July 28, 1977 in Cottbus ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament in 2009 and between 2012 and 2019 .

Life and work

After graduating from college in 1997 graduated Loehr in Cottbus and Zehdenick training as IT system - Kaufmann . He then did community service in the hand in hand workshops of the Lebenshilfe in Gallinchen. From 2002 to the end of 2005 he was employed by the same agency at different locations.

Loehr is married and has two children.

In 1998 Matthias Loehr joined what was then PDS . In 2001 he was elected to the state board of the PDS Brandenburg, which he was a member until March 2010. From 2002 to 2006 he was managing director of the Cottbus district association. Since 2007 he has been a member of the DIE LINKE Lausitz district board . Since 2011 he has been chairman of the Lausitz district association (Cottbus & Spree-Neisse).

He ran unsuccessfully for a direct mandate in the constituency of Cottbus I in the 2004 state election . He was just defeated by Martina Münch ( SPD ). After the Bundestag election in 2005 , he became a member of the constituency of the Bundestag member Wolfgang Nešković in 2006 .

In December 2008, Matthias Loehr moved up to the state parliament of Brandenburg over the state list position 28 for the resigned Stefan Sarrach . He became the legal policy spokesman for the parliamentary group and a member of the legal committee and judges' selection committee. In the state elections on September 27, 2009 , he ran again as a direct candidate in Cottbus and as a list candidate for his party, but missed the re-entry into the state parliament. From 2010 to 2012 Loehr was the office manager of the Bundestag member and former Brandenburg state chairman Thomas Nord . In July 2012 he replaced the deceased Member of Parliament Irene Wolff-Molorciuc in the Brandenburg state parliament.

For the 2014 state elections he ran at Cottbus II . He made it into the state parliament via the state list. He was spokesman for his group for tourism and economic policy. He worked on the Economic and Energy Committee and the BER special committee.

In 2018 he stood in the district election in the Spree-Neisse district , but missed the runoff election with 16.5% of the vote. He has been a member of the Cottbus City Council since 2019.

For the 2019 state elections he was a direct candidate in the Cottbus I state constituency . However, he lost the election to AfD politician Marianne Spring-Räumschüssel .

Matthias Loehr has been a member of the globalization-critical network attac since 2001 . He is also a member of Jugendhilfe Cottbus eV, the Green League and the Action Reconciliation . After being elected to the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Spree-Neiße at the end of 2008, Loehr became a member on February 16, 2009.
