Matthias Pech

Matthias Pech is a German church musician and organist .

Life

He attended the Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Gifhorn and studied church music at the Lübeck University of Music from 1985 to 1991 ( organ with Martin Haselböck , harpsichord with Hans-Jürgen Schnoor , conducting ). During his studies he took master classes with Eric Ericsson , Helmuth Rilling , Daniel Roth , Jacques van Oortmerssen , took part in organ academies with Winfried Berger (organ) and Anna Kuwertz ( Dispokinesis ) and was assistant in the oratorio choir of Berthold Mindner .

From July 1991 to October 1994 Matthias Pech was cantor and organist at the Church of St. Laurentius in Tönning , from November 1994 to December 2002 as district cantor at the town church “St. Johannis-der-Täufer ” in Walsrode and from 2003 as cantor and organist in Stralsund in the St. Nikolai Church . Since 2013 he has also been the district cantor in the Stralsund priory in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District . In 2016 he was appointed church music director.
