Matthias Schneckenburger
Matthias Schneckenburger (actually Mathias Schnekenburger ; born January 17, 1804 in Talheim near Tuttlingen , † June 14, 1848 in Bern ) was a Protestant theologian.
Schneckenburger is considered the founder of the sub-discipline and literary genre "New Testament Contemporary History".
The older brother of Max Schneckenburger became a repetent in Tübingen in 1827 , deacon (2nd parish priest) in Herrenberg in 1831 and professor of theology at the newly founded University of Bern in 1834 . From 1821 he was close friends with the poet and writer Wilhelm Waiblinger (1804-1830) of the same age .
