Matthias Weigert

Matthias "Matze" Weigert (born August 15, 1983 in Regensburg ) is a German poker expert and moderator .

Life

Matze grew up in Lappersdorf near Regensburg, attended the state technical college and graduated from high school there in 2004. He then did community service in a workshop for the disabled. After several years in Munich and Landshut, Weigert returned to his hometown Regensburg in 2012.

At the age of eleven he learned to play poker, at that time still using the five card draw variant . After 2006 he added the variants Texas Hold'em , Omaha , Seven Card Stud and Crazy Pineapple to his repertoire .

Professional background

After graduating from high school, he began an apprenticeship with the Munich tour operator FTI Frosch Touristik , for which he worked in training management until 2008.

In 2009 he reoriented himself professionally and completed an editorial internship at Radio Galaxy Bayern in the Funkhaus Regensburg . He was then taken on as a volunteer and presented the afternoon program Galaxy PM from Landshut for three years . Weigert took part in poker tournaments himself.

Since October 2012, Weigert has been working as a moderator and poker expert for the SOSA - Show one show all format on various web platforms such as pokerfirma.com and sport1.de . He reports on tournaments from around the world with a focus on the Casinos Austria Poker Tour, the European Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas . He also moderates a magazine program from a virtual studio once a week.

In December 2013 Weigert took part in the APAT Team European Championship together with the German poker coach Stephan Kalhamer , Juergen Bachmann and Alex Mühlbauer and won gold for Germany. Weigert also won the title of best player of the event.
