Matthias Werner (politician)

Matthias Werner (born March 22, 1902 in Kerpen ; † January 27, 1975 in Heidelberg ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and completing a commercial apprenticeship, he worked in the commercial sector. Most recently as a manager at Rheinbraun .

He was a member of the district council of the former Bergheim (Erft) district from 1956 to 1961. From November 15, 1956 to April 7, 1961, he was district administrator of the Bergheim district. From 1946 to 1969 he was a member of the municipality council of the municipality of Türnich . During this time Werner was also mayor .

Werner was active in various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia . In Bergheim Matthias-Werner-street was named after him.
