Matthias Wiebalck

Matthias Wiebalck (born April 3, 1958 in Bad Gandersheim ) is a German actor .

Life

Matthias Wiebalck completed his acting training from 1977 to 1980 at Hedi Höpfner's Hamburg stage studio . This was followed by further training in seminars with Peter Brook and Ariane Mnouchkine in Paris as well as Peter Löscher and a scholarship at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in Los Angeles.

Wiebalck's theater career was initially at Theater Krefeld and Mönchengladbach and Theater Lüneburg , and since the early 1990s he has played predominantly on Hamburg theaters, such as the Deutsches Schauspielhaus , the Kammerspiele , Kampnagel , the Altonaer Theater , the Allee Theater or the former theaters in the Basilica and Washingtonallee .

Occasionally Wiebalck also takes on roles in front of the camera, and he can often be seen as a guest in well-known series. In 2006 and 2007 he played the farmer Wiebi on Sesame Street .

In addition, Matthias Wiebalck reads audio books, works for the North German hearing library for the blind and organizes readings and recitals. He lives in Hamburg.
