Matzersreuth is a district and a district of the district town of Tirschenreuth in the Upper Palatinate . The place is five kilometers southeast of Tirschenreuth in Stiftland and has an area of 1696 hectares. There is a volunteer fire brigade in the village .

The village of Matzersreuth is about five kilometers east of Tirschenreuth. The town is connected to the neighboring towns of Lohnsitz and Gründelbach as well as the town of Tirschenreuth via the TIR1 district road .
history
The village was first mentioned in 1154 as "Watzingenreuth". The Matzersreuth Castle was located in the village .
Until the regional reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978, it was an independent municipality and was incorporated into Tirschenreuth.
