Mauro Gerosa
Mauro Gerosa (born October 9, 1974 in Oggiono , Italy ) is a former Italian cyclist .
Gerosa began his professional career at Amica Chips in 2000 , after having been a stagiaire for Team Mapei in autumn 1999 . In 2005 he was a member of the UCI ProTeam Liquigas-Bianchi , which this year won the individual ranking of the ProTour with Danilo Di Luca . Gerosa could not achieve individual victories on an international level; his best placings were fourth places in the 6th and 21st stage of the Giro d'Italia 2001, sixth place in the individual time trial Firenze – Pistoia 2003, the bronze medal at the Italian road championships in 2004 and sixth place at the Grand Prix of the Canton of Aargau in 2004. He has taken part in the Tour of Italy five times , twice in the Vuelta a España , and in 2005 he made his only start in the Tour de France . After the 2006 season he ended his career as a professional cyclist.
