Max Christiansen (politician)

Max Christiansen (born April 17, 1907 , † March 10, 1980 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1960 to 1966 he was chairman of the Neubrandenburg district association of the GDR CDU.

Life

Christiansen, the son of an architect , began an apprenticeship as a carpenter after attending primary school , but did not finish it. He worked for some time as a farm laborer and served in the Reichswehr and the Wehrmacht from 1927 to 1937 . From 1937 to 1945 he worked as a payroll clerk, buyer and business administrator.

After 1945 Christiansen worked in the city administration of Boizenburg . In 1946 he became a member of the CDU and was from 1946 to 1948 city councilor and member of the council of Boizenburg. From 1952 to 1957 he headed the Agriculture Department at the Boizenburg City Council. From 1957 to 1960 he worked as deputy chairman of the council of the Hagenow district . In May 1960 Christiansen was elected as the successor to Emma Heinrich as the first chairman of the Neubrandenburg district association of the CDU. In October 1966 he was replaced by Dietrich Lehmann on this post. He later worked as a deputy head of department in the secretariat of the CDU main board. Christiansen was also a member of the Neubrandenburg district assembly, from 1964 to 1968 successor to the main board of the CDU, member of the district management of the German Cultural Association and the Berlin district committee of the National Front .
