Max Renne

Max Renne (born February 9, 1974 in Berlin ) is a German conductor .

Life

Renne finished his school education in 1993 at the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium in Berlin with the Abitur . As early as 1991 he had begun a preparatory course in accompaniment , score playing and conducting at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin , which he completed in 1993.

In 1993 and 1994 Renne did his military service as a répétiteur in the armed forces and studied from 1994 to 1996 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Leopold Hager . In 1995 he was répétiteur and musical assistant at the summer festival in Meran (“ Der Freischütz ”) and in 1996 in Wernigerode (“ Don Giovanni ”). From the winter semester 1996/97 he continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and from the season 1996/97 worked as a répétiteur with a conducting obligation at the Landestheater Linz , where he soon became a director of studies and conductor. During this time he worked on an extensive opera and operetta repertoire, most of which he conducted and supervised several productions as musical director, for which he wrote his own arrangements.

In 1999 he received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association in Linz.

Max Renne has been working as a freelance conductor since 2004, and in this role he managed productions in the rehearsal center in the former storage building of the State Opera Unter den Linden and in the large house. He worked on opera productions with the Dresden Philharmonic in the Hellerau cultural center and in 2007 worked for the first time with Sebastian Baumgarten at the Volksbühne Berlin . Conducting took him to Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig and Stuttgart. In the 2012/13 season he conducted the productions of Friedrich Goldmann's opera "R.Hot or Die Wärme" in the workshop of the State Opera in the Schiller Theater and in 2015/2016 at the Semperoper Dresden (Semper 2). He conducted a ballet evening at the Gothenburg Opera and “ The Threepenny Opera ” at the Stuttgart State Theater, directed by Sebastian Baumgarten. In 2018/19 he conducted the Children's Opera Orchestra of the Berlin State Opera together with Daniel Barenboim.
