Max Weber (born April 23, 1985 ) is a former German basketball player on the position of winger. The 2.01 meter tall Weber played for Bamberg, Frankfurt, Gießen, Göttingen, Ludwigsburg and Vechta in the basketball league . He was a German junior and A2 national player.

At the age of seven Weber started playing basketball in a school club and then played in the youth of BG '89 Rotenburg / Scheeßel , TuS Bramsche and TSV Quakenbrück . At the age of 16 he moved to Peru with his family for a year and a half , where his father worked as a teacher, and during this time he played for the Universidad de Lima club.

After returning to Germany in 2003, he went to GHP Bamberg in the basketball league . He stayed there until 2006, got short appearances in the top German league, but did not yet make the Bundesliga breakthrough. Also in the European Cup, Weber got in the Bamberg shirt (also limited) playing time. During his time in Bamberg, thanks to a “double license”, he was active in the 2nd Bundesliga basketball division of the Upper Franconian partner clubs: first BBC Bayreuth , then TSV Breitengüßbach .

From 2006 to 2009 he held a similar constellation at the Skyliners Frankfurt . In the first two years Weber played mostly for Frankfurt's cooperation partner TV Langen in the second division and received short appearances in the Frankfurt Bundesliga team. In his third and last year on the Main (2008/09) he was exclusively in the first division squad.

In 2009/10 Weber was under contract with the Gießen 46ers in the Bundesliga and went to the second division Saar-Pfalz Braves for the 2010/11 season , where he was a top performer. As a result, he once again attracted the attention of first division clubs and was signed by the BG Göttingen in the run-up to the 2011/12 game year . With the "Veilchen" he posted the best statistical values ​​of his Bundesliga career: Weber averaged 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 33 appearances.

In 2012/13 he played for the giants Ludwigsburg in the Bundesliga and moved to the first division newcomer SC Rasta Vechta in the summer of 2013 . With the Lower Saxony he was relegated from the Bundesliga and was only able to play two games for the Lower Saxony in the 2. Bundesliga ProA due to back problems. He last met at the end of January 2015.

National team

Weber wore the German national jersey in the age groups U16, U18 and U20. In 2007 he took part in the Universiade in Bangkok with the A2 national team.

Trainer

In June 2017 Weber obtained the Trainer B license and, in addition to his full-time work as a marketing employee of a company based in Essen , took on the position of co-trainer of the second men’s team Rasta Vechtas in the first regional league.
