Max and Moritz is a German children's film from 1956 based on the story of the same name by Wilhelm Busch . Directed by Norbert Schultze . The underlying stage version was premiered in 1938 in Oldenburg as "ballet pantomime with singing".
action
In the film, a painter-poet and a girl tell the story of Max and Moritz's rascals. Most of the film is based on Wilhelm Busch's original. The rhymes are all mentioned in spoken, sung form and the pranks are presented in a scenic way. Most of the time, the graphic motifs are even reproduced.
criticism
"A successful combination of animation and real film, which shows a lot of feeling for a child's mentality."
