Max von Gomperz (born March 1, 1822 in Brno , † November 7, 1913 in Vienna ) was an Austrian industrialist and banker .

He was the son of Philipp Josua Feibelman Gomperz (1782-1857) and Henriette Gomperz, née Auspitz (1792-1881). His siblings were Josephine Gomperz, married Josephine von Wertheimstein (1820-1894); Julius von Gomperz (1823–1909), Theodor Gomperz (1832–1912) and Sophie Gomperz, married Sophie von Todesco (1825–1895), with whose family he later shared the Palais Todesco . His wife was his cousin Louise Auspitz (1832-1917).

Max von Gomperz managed the Bohemian Western Railway , then, together with his brother Julius , the fine cloth factory L. Auspitz Enkel , moved to Vienna in 1858, where he worked as a banker and industrialist with interests in the sugar industry. For many years he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Creditanstalt für Handel und Gewerbe and senior director of the Philipp Gomperz Bank in Vienna.
