Maximilian A. Muller

Maximilian André Müller is a German economist and professor at the international business school ESMT Berlin .

Career

After graduating from high school in 2003 at the Johanneum School of Academics in Hamburg and doing military service with the Mountain Hunter Battalion 232 Bischofswiesen - Strub , Müller studied at the University of Mannheim and graduated in 2008 with a degree in business administration . Subsequently, he was a research associate at Thorsten Sellhorn at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar and received his doctorate there in 2011 summa cum laude Dr. rer. pole. During his PhD he did research as a Marie Curie fellow at Tilburg University .

In 2012 Müller became Junior Professor for Financial Reporting at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. From 2015 to 2016 he conducted research as a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and was a post-doctoral fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service . From 2016 to 2019 he held the Chair of Financial Reporting at WHU. Müller has been Associate Professor of Accounting at ESMT Berlin since 2020. In addition, he has been an Academic Advisor at Othoz, a quantitative asset management company, since 2018.

Research priorities

Maximilian A. Müller researches in particular the disclosure of financial information in capital markets and topics of international accounting and corporate taxation .
