Maximilien Le Roy studied for a year in Paris and moved to Lyon in 2004 at the age of 18 . Since 2006 he has devoted himself entirely to comics and travel. First he visited Mali , in 2007 Rwanda and the following year he toured India , the Palestinian Territories and Europe.

In 2009 his first "graphic novel" was published in Gaza, un pavé dans la mer . Also in 2009 was Hosni, SDF , the portrait of the young homeless Tunisian Hosni, whom Le Roy had met in the streets of Lyon. In the same year Le Roy traveled to Algeria and again to Palestine and organized an exhibition on the Gaza Strip . In 2010 Le Roy visited Vietnam , followed in the footsteps of Henry David Thoreau to the USA, and because of Mayakovsky to Russia. Further graphic novels appeared in the French and German-speaking regions: Nietzsche, se créer liberté is the name of Nietzsche's drawn biography, which is based on a text by the French philosopher Michel Onfray and was received with reluctance in the press. “Nietzsche” was translated into German.

Les chemins de traverse , the story of an Israeli anarchist and a militant Palestinian , was published in France in 2010 . He self-published Lever l'encre .

His most important work to date, Faire le Mur , was named The Wall in 2012 . Report from Palestine published in German by Edition Moderne . It tells the story of the 25-year-old Palestinian Mahmoud Abu Srou, whom Le Roy met in 2008 while traveling in the Aida refugee camp near Bethlehem, and shows his view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The wall received consistently positive reviews in France and Belgium ; also in Switzerland: “The main part of the book, the 'Report from Palestine' is a moving biographical imaginary fantasy - and a brilliant work of art.” In 2011 Le Roy traveled to China . The last work to date was Dans la nuit la Liberté nous écoute , the story of a young Frenchman who went to Indochina as a soldier in 1946 to “fight terrorists”.
