It rises in the municipality of Fontaine-sur-Maye , dehydrated generally in a westerly direction, leaving the mainland after the municipal border of Le Crotoy and Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont and ends after a total of 38 kilometers in the wrongly called Somme "Bay" designated estuary of the Somme River in the English Channel . For the drainage of wetlands , the Canal de la Maye is branched off at Arry and led into the summer bay just east of Le Crotoy .
