The Randol Township is one of 10 townships in Cape Girardeau County in the southeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri .
geography
The Randol Township is located on the west bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The mouth of the Ohio near Cairo at the interface between the states of Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky is around 70 km to the southeast.
The Randol Township is located at 37 ° 23'17 "north latitude and 89 ° 32'45" west longitude and extends over 173.31 km², which is spread over 169.11 km² of land and 4.2 km² of water.
In the northeast of the Randol Township is the Trail of Tears State Park , the northern half of which is already in the Shawnee Township .
The Randol Township borders Cape Girardeau Township in the south, Byrd Township in the west and Shawnee Township in the north within Cape Girardeau County . In the east, the Mississippi forms the border with Union County in Illinois.

Interstate 55 runs through the southwest of the township and is the shortest route from St. Louis to Memphis . Further east, Missouri State Route 177 runs parallel to the Mississippi .
A BNSF Railway runs through Randol Township and runs along the entire length of the Mississippi.
The nearest airport is Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, around 25 km south of the township .

At the 2010 census , the township had 4,431 residents. In addition to scattered settlement, the northern outskirts of Cape Girardeau and the eastern suburbs of Jackson, there are three community-free settlements in the township :
