history

The ship was built under hull number 1005 at the Pt Dok Kodja Bahri shipyard in Jakarta , Indonesia. The launch took place on September 28, 1992. The christening took place on April 19, 1996 by Marianne Nilsson in Jakarta. The ship was only completed in April 1996 and started sailing as Gotland . In the following years it was used on various routes in the Baltic and North Sea.

In December 1997 the ship was sold to the Finnish shipping company Finnlines and renamed Finnarrow . Finnlines used the ship in the Baltic Sea. In the meantime, the ship also served other shipping companies, from January 2003 for Nordö-Link, from March 2007 for Scandlines and from the end of April 2007 for Stena Line.

In July 2013, the ship was chartered to the Grimaldi Group for five years and renamed Euroferry Brindisi . It was rebuilt at Besiktas Shipyard for this service . Among other things, a new passenger deck was built on the vehicle deck, which significantly changed the appearance of the ship.

On December 18, 2014, the ship was sold to Polish Baltic Shipping. In February 2015 the ship was rebuilt at Fayards AS in Munkebo . The Polferries ship has been used as Mazovia on the Swinoujscie - Ystad route since April 2015 . For this purpose, the ship was converted first in Szczecin and later in Odense . The Scandinavia was replaced and Ventouris taken.

A fire broke out on board on October 14, 2016.
