Ralph McInerny
Ralph McInerny (born February 24, 1929 - January 29, 2010 in South Bend , Indiana , USA ) was an American writer and philosopher .
biography
After attending school, McInerny studied at St. Paul Seminary in Saint Paul (Minnesota) as well as at the University of Minnesota and Laval University , each with a graduation .
In 1955 he was appointed professor of philosophy at the University of Notre Dame , Indiana , and later held the local Michael P. Grace Professorship in Medieval Studies. At the same time, he was director of the Jacques Maritain Center from 1979 to 2006 . As a university lecturer , he was in particular a recognized expert on the writings of Thomas Aquinas and Thomism . In 2009 he retired .
He was the author of more than two dozen academic books and a large number of specialist articles. His most important scientific books include:

- "The Question of Christian Ethics", 1993
- "Aquinas on Human Action"
- "The Very Rich Hours of Jacques Maritain: A Spiritual Life", 2003
In 1982 he co-founded the magazine "Crisis" alongside Michael Novak , which has been published on the Internet at insidecatholic.com since September 2006 . He has also written more than 80 novels , including "The Father Dowling Mysteries", the model for the 1987-1991 television series " A Blessed Team " with Tom Bosley , Tracy Nelson and Mary Wickes .
In 1993 he received the Anthony Award for his life's work as a writer .
In 2006 his autobiography "I Alone Have Escaped to Tell You: My Life and Pastimes" was published.
