The T 3 of the Großherzoglich Mecklenburgischen Friedrich-Franz-Eisenbahn , formerly class XVII, was a freight train tender locomotive with the wheel arrangement C based on the model of the Prussian T 3 . It was later classified by the Deutsche Reichsbahn as class 89.80 in their numbering plan .

Of the total of 68 copies that were built by various manufacturers between 1884 and 1906, 51 (T3a) corresponded to the older design of the Prussian T 3 with regulator attachment. The other 17 (T3b) corresponded to the reinforced Prussian T 3 with steam dome . Two of these locomotives received a Heusinger control instead of the Allan control . They were mainly used in branch line and shunting services. The last locomotive was retired from the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1963.
