Megan Norma McNamara (born August 1, 1997 in Richmond ) is a Canadian beach volleyball player .

Career

Megan McNamara began her career at the University of California, Los Angeles . As a beach volleyball player, she forms a duo with her twin sister Nicole McNamara . In 2014 the sisters took part in the U21 World Cup in Larnaka and then came third in the U19 World Cup in Porto . They also finished third at the 2016 U21 World Cup in Lucerne . The following year they finished the tournament for this age group in Nanjing in fifth place. In 2018 they took part in the FIVB World Tour for the first time. They achieved top ten results at the three-star tournaments in Haiyang and Tokyo . They also won the World Student Championship WUC 2018 in Munich . With the UCLA Bruins they also won the NCAA championship in beach volleyball. At the World Tour 2018/19 they have so far achieved top ten results in Chetumal (three stars) and Itapema (four stars). They also qualified for the 2019 World Cup in Hamburg . There they lost to the German duo Körtzinger / Schneider in the lucky loser game .
