Megumi Matsuura ( Japanese 松浦 恵 美 , Matsuura Megumi ; born March 6, 1984 in Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese biathlete and cross-country skier .

Matsuura Megumi lives on Hokkaidō, attended school in Asahikawa and trained in Sapporo . The sports soldier of Tōki Sengi Kyōikutai (Tōsenkyō), for whom she also competes, is trained by Sakae Murota. In 2002 the athlete started biathlon. Initially, between 2001 and 2003, she contested half a dozen races in the Cross-Country Continental Cup . She competed in her first international biathlon race in 2005 as part of the Biathlon European Cup in Langdorf . There she was ninth in her first sprint and immediately achieved a single-digit placement. In 2007 , the Japanese made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup . First she competed in Oberhof with Megumi Izumi , Tamami Tanaka and Ikuyo Tsukidate a first relay race, in which the relay of Japan ran to 12th place. This was followed by a deployment in a sprint, in which she was 79th. The 2007 Winter Asian Games in Changchun were the highlight of the season . Megumi reached eleventh place in the sprint, was tenth in the pursuit, ninth in the individual and won the bronze medal with Izumi, Tanaka and Tsukidate in the relay race behind the Chinese and Kazakh representations.
