The Mehner Bach , also known as Obermehner Mühlenbach or simply Mühlenbach , is a 9.0 kilometer long brook that essentially flows through the East Westphalian town of Lübbecke , but also through the town of Preußisch Oldendorf . course

Gradient and course of the Mehner Bach

The headwaters of the Mehner Baches consist of two brooks and lies in the Wiehen Mountains . The eastern stream rises not far from the summit of the Kahler Wart near the border with the municipality of Hüllhorst, and a western one in an area called Gerliethe . Both source streams unite 300 meters south of the village of Obermehnen . The Mehner Bach flows generally north-northwest through the Lübbecker Loessland , through the two eponymous places Obermehnen and Untermehnen, then through Blasheim and Eikel and finally through the Hollwinkeler Holz . When entering the forest area mentioned, the brook leaves the Lübbeck city area and flows for around 700 meters through the area of the city of Preußisch Oldendorf, then flows into the Große Aue not far from the village of Hedem .

Others

Immediately southwest of the Hollwinkeler Holz, the creek forms the border between Lübbecke and Preußisch Oldendorf over a length of around 50 meters. The catchment area also includes a small part of the municipality of Hüllhorst, as in the area of the headwaters the border between the municipalities of Hüllhorst and Lübbecke lies a little north of the watershed.

The source of the Mehner Bach is only about 300 meters from the source of the Rehmerloh-Mennighüffer Mühlenbach on the opposite side of the ridge .
