Mileshofen is located in the Hallertau on the left bank of the Abens and on the main road 301 more than three kilometers north of Mainburg. Coming from the west, the Haunsbach flows through the village , about opposite the Wangenbacher Bach into the river.

history

Mileshofen, first documented in the 11th century, had a local nobility since the 13th century. Mileshofen is already referred to as Hofmark in a design register from 1402 . The Meilenhofer was followed by the Saller from the Kelheim area at the latest in the second half of the 14th century . In 1527 the goods and rights in Meilenhofen were transferred to the Pusch zu Vilsheim . At the end of the century, Meilenhofen came into the possession of the Viehhauser. At the beginning of the 19th century the Hofmark still existed as a patrimonial court . According to a protocol of June 16, 1818, the patrimonial court of Meilenhofen, which belongs to the Abensberg Regional Court, was subject to 43 families.

Mileshofen consisted of 32 houses and an inn in 1805. The community of Meilenhofen initially belonged to the Abensberg district court, then to the Mainburg district court established in 1857 and to the Rottenburg district office created in 1862 , from 1901 to the detached Mainburg district office and finally to the Mainburg district, so named in 1939 . In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the community of Meilenhofen was incorporated into the community of Lindkirchen on January 1, 1972 and came with this on January 1, 1978 to the city of Mainburg. In terms of the church, the Elsendorf parish is responsible for Meilenhofen. In 1987, Meilenhofen had 315 inhabitants.
