Meinhard von Lehndorff

Meinhard von Lehndorff (* December 27, 1590 ; † July 31, 1639 ) was a lieutenant colonel in Brandenburg as well as the governor and district administrator of Rastenburg .

Life

Meinhard was a member of the Prussian noble family Lehndorff on Steinort . His parents were the governor of Oletzko Sebastian von Lehndorff (1564-1610) and Judith von Kannacher (1566-1647).

He was hereditary lord of Steinort and Taberlack , and from 1620 also to Rogow, Lanewo, Jakuszowa etc. In the Brandenburg service Lehndorff advanced to the rank of lieutenant colonel and finally held the post of governor and district administrator of Rastenburg in Prussia.

Even if Meinhard was not the first of his line to be wealthy there, he is still considered the progenitor or founder of the Lehndorff-Steinort line, as all of the descendants of Lehndorff zu Steinort can be traced back to him. He was married to Freiin Elisabeth von Eulenburg (1605–1675) from 1623 . The marriage resulted in 14 children, including:
