Melanie Jäger-Waldau (* 1970 in Bremen as Melanie Schulz ) is a German church musician , choir director and organist .

Life

Melanie Jäger-Waldau, b. Schulz, after graduating from high school, studied church music (A) and concert organ with Franz Lehrndorfer at the Munich University of Music and Theater . Her other teachers included Wolfram Menschick and Roderich Kreile (choir direction) and Hans-Martin Schneidt (conducting). She received further impulses from interpretation courses with Daniel Roth , Luigi Fernando Tagliavini, Helmuth Rilling , Frieder Bernius and Eric Ericson .

Since 1995 she has worked as the cathedral cantor at St. Nikolaus-Münster in Überlingen and as part of the diocesan C training as an organ teacher for the Archdiocese of Freiburg . Since 2016 she has been President of the Catholic Children's and Youth Choir Association Pueri Cantores of the Archdiocese of Freiburg , and since 2019 a member of the Presidium of the National Committee Pueri Cantores Germany . She is a member of the editorial group " Tagzeiten Liturgien zum Neuen Gotteslob " and the Freiburg Children's Choir Book 2 . She works as a lecturer and jury member. She was awarded a scholarship from the Cusanuswerk Episcopal Study Foundation and the cultural sponsorship award from her hometown Germering . In 2019 she was awarded the title of Church Music Director (KMD) of the Archdiocese of Freiburg .
