Melanie Schultz (born July 4, 1985 ) is a former Canadian biathlete .

Melanie Schultz had her first international appearances at the Winter Universiade 2007 in Turin , where she was 33rd in the individual, 46th in the sprint and 39th in the pursuit race. Initially, she mainly took part in races in North America. She was 13th in the overall ranking of the Biathlon NorAm Cup 2007/08 and seventh in the individual competition at the North American Roller Ski Biathlon Championships in 2008 in Canmore , bronze medalist in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit race. At the Canadian Championships 2009 Schultz won the silver medal in the individual and together with Tyson Smith and Jaime Robb in the mixed relay and silver in the sprint race. It was also the North American Biathlon Championships in 2009 , in the context of this competition Schultz was tenth in the individual, 13th sprint and fifth in the mixed relay.

Since the 2009/10 season , Schultz started increasingly outside of North America. In Ridnaun she made her debut in 2009 in the IBU Cup, 2010 in Ruhpolding in the World Cup . With Megan Imrie , Zina Kocher and Rosanna Crawford , she was 16 in the Canadian season. A little later, the first individual races followed in Antholz . The Canadian finished 67th in the individual and 98th in the sprint. The result in the individual is also her best result in the World Cup so far. At the open European Biathlon Championships in 2011 in Ridnaun, Schultz was 16th in the individual, 33rd in the sprint, 29th in the pursuit and tenth in relay with Crawford, Claude Godbout and Emma Lodge . In the 2010/11 Biathlon NorAm Cup , she won her first race in this series with a pursuer in Lake Placid . At the end of the 2012/13 season , she announced her retirement from biathlon.

In 2012, Schultz was named Canadian Biathlete of the Year .
