Melodie is the second studio album by the German rapper Cro . It was released on June 6, 2014 via the hip-hop label Chimperator Productions as a standard and premium edition. The sound carrier entered the German , Austrian and Swiss album charts at number 1 .
production
The beats for the album were produced by Cro himself and producers Shuko and Freedo. Michael Geldreich and Peet also co-produced the instrumental for the song Cop Love .
Cover design
The album cover shows a gray and white bust wearing a panda mask typical of Cro . The background is also gray and white. The words Cro and Melody are written in white on the chest of the bust . In the Premium Edition, these words are dark gray.
Guest Posts
The only guest appearance on the album comes from the rapper Dajuan , who can be heard in the song Meine Gang (Bang Bang) .

Melodie entered the German charts at number 1 in the 26th calendar week of 2014 and was at number 4 in the following weeks; 6; 5 and 5. Overall, the album stayed in the top 10 for eight weeks. In Austria and Switzerland, too, the sound carrier immediately topped the charts. In the German annual charts for 2014, the album was ranked 11th.
The first single for the album was released on May 9, 2014, the song Traum , which also topped the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In Germany, the song stayed at number 1 for four weeks. The second single Bad Chick was released on September 5, 2014 and reached position 9 in the German charts. Hey Girl was ranked 35th as the third release . Due to high individual download sales, the songs Melodie , Jetzt and Meine Gang (Bang Bang) also made it into the German and Austrian charts.
Sales figures and awards
Melodie received a gold record for over 100,000 units sold in Germany . The album was also awarded a gold record in Austria and Switzerland for 7,500 and 10,000 copies sold respectively.
The single Traum was also awarded gold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The album received mostly positive reviews.
- laut.de gave Melodie three out of a possible five points. Above all, the good production by Shuko and the catchy vocal choruses are emphasized, whereas the lyrics come off less well:
“Shuko is responsible for the perfect musical substructure, who also contributed to" Melodie "as a supporting support. […] Nevertheless, Cro only partially succeeds in showing off: While the intro, for example, is still officially thumping through the speakers, the high school rock "Now" or the kitschy "Maybe" fall off in terms of sound and taste. Lyrically anyway. Neither "Now" and "Race" have more to offer than the usual, highly simplified plea for the moment, for the present and for enjoyment.
