description

Menhir I is plate-shaped and trapezoidal. It consists of quartzitic sandstone and has a height of 1.95 m, a width of 1.63 m and a thickness of 0.76 m. Both natural depressions and several artificial bowls can be seen on the front . In the Middle Ages and / or modern times , the menhir was used as a nail stone . Several iron nails in the back testify to this. The menhir was also used as a signpost ; the labels are still there.

Finds from the area around the menhirs come from the band ceramic culture , the spherical amphora culture , the Bernburg culture , the cord ceramic culture , the Aunjetitz culture , from the full bronze age , the Latène period and from the Middle Ages .

No details are available about the shape, material and dimensions of Menhir II.
