Meret Engelhardt

Meret Engelhardt (born June 30, 1988 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress .

Life and work

Meret Engelhardt first studied theater, film and media studies at the University of Vienna . From 2008 to 2012 she studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) and worked with directors such as Johann Kresnik and Igor Bauersima . She played at dramagraz and was seen in the production of Miller's “Hexenjagd” by Anna Badora at the Graz Schauspielhaus .

After her first permanent engagement at Theater Paderborn , where she appeared as Pauline Piperkarcka in Hauptmann's “Die Ratten” and as Sarah Regan in “Harper Regan” by Simon Stephens , she was an ensemble member at Meininger Staatstheater from 2014 to 2018 . Here she worked with directors such as Ansgar Haag , Andreas Morell and Jasmina Hadziahmetovic .

In 2017 she was awarded the Ulrich Burkhardt Award and was a. a. to be seen as Kriemhild in Hebbel'sNibelungen ”, as Lammchen in “Little Man, What Now?”, as Gretchen in “Urfaust” and as Caliban in Shakespeare's “The Storm”.

Meret Engelhardt has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Kassel since the 2018/19 season . There she made her debut as Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet” in a production by Johanna Wehner . In addition, she worked with directors such as Laura Linnenbaum , Markus Dietz, Thomas Bockelmann and Gustav Rueb .
