Merscheid (Morbach)
Merscheid is a district of the independent municipality of Morbach in the Hunsrück in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The place has about 400 inhabitants (2019).
Merscheid was granted market rights in 1723 . The Merscheider market is a well-known farmers and animal market in the region.
The coat of arms of the place shows on a green ground and silver ground in the shield base, the Saint George on a right-pointing, silver horse. Saint George wears gold armor and kills a dragon that lies on the ground. Saint George is the parish patron of the Merscheid community.
