Mertin Kynast (also Kinast ) was an incumbent Dresden councilor and mayor in the 15th century .

He is mentioned for the first time under the name Kynast (without first name) in the oldest surviving sovereign council confirmation document from January 13, 1399 among the members of the Dresden council. In 1403 he was the council's builder responsible for all urban construction projects. At the same time he was responsible for the administration of the council buildings, the town stables and the brick barn and lime kiln in front of the town . Two years later he became mayor for the first time and held this office again in 1409, 1412, 1415 and 1417. He was last named among the councilors in 1422.

Well for him naming the 1407 first mentioned in going Loessnitz lying schriftsässigen vineyard estate Chojnik back at least twice belonged to members of the same family Dresdner Council.
