On January 1, 2017, Mesnil-Clinchamps was incorporated into the new municipality of Noues de Sienne as part of a regional reform together with nine neighboring municipalities .

Mesnil-Clinchamps is located about 30 kilometers south-southeast of Saint-Lô and about 59 kilometers southwest of Caen .

Mesnil-Clinchamps was surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Mesnil-Caussois and Le Mesnil-Benoist in the north, Vire-Normandie in the east, Saint-Manvieu-Bocage in the south and Saint-Sever-Calvados in the west and south-west.
