The Methingau (also pagus MethinseMethingouwepays de Matois) was a Franconian district in the area of ​​what is now the border triangle of Belgium , France and Luxembourg , the Pays skin between Longwy and Briey .

It included the towns of Answeiler , Aumetz , Baslieux , Beuvillers , Contern , Labry , Luxembourg City , Mamer , Monnerich , Rédange , Syren , Vernéville and Villers-la-Montagne .
