Michael Ahlt

Michael Ahlt (born May 12, 1943 in Prague ; † March 19, 2016 in Augsburg ) was a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Career

After passing the Second State Examination in 1973, Ahlt initially worked as a lawyer for a short time . He then entered the higher judicial service of the Free State of Bavaria , where he worked for the Augsburg public prosecutor and the Nördlingen district court . In 1976 Ahlt was appointed judge at the Augsburg District Court and in 1988 as a judge at the Augsburg Regional Court. In 1990 he was promoted to judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court . In 1993 Ahlt was seconded to the Dresden Higher Regional Court, where he was appointed presiding judge at the Higher Regional Court. From 1995 to 2000 he worked as a consultant at the Court of Justice of the European Communities .

In 2001 Ahlt was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and the XII. Civil Senate assigned. At the end of May 31, 2008 he retired and worked as a lawyer in the law firm run by his son in Augsburg until his death.
